Process to Get Started
1. Initial Consultation:
The first step in getting started with WINGS is to schedule an initial consultation by calling (201) 297-9167 or emailing wings@abatherapy.com. During this consultation, our office manager will collect information about your needs, concerns, and insurance and guide you on the next steps.
2. Verifying Insurance and Financial Information:
Before beginning therapy services, we understand the importance of verifying insurance coverage and providing transparent information regarding financial responsibilities. Our administrative team is available to assist you in navigating insurance processes, including verifying coverage, understanding deductibles, coinsurance, and co-pays. We strive to ensure that you have a clear understanding of your financial obligations and available benefits to make informed decisions about your therapy services.
3. Phone Meeting with Clinical Director:
To ensure a collaborative and personalized approach to therapy, we offer a phone meeting with our Clinical Director and the parent or guardian of the individual receiving services. This meeting provides an opportunity to discuss specific goals, preferences, and concerns related to ABA therapy. Our Clinical Director will work closely with you to develop a customized therapy plan and projected client schedule that aligns with your needs and objectives. We value open communication and partnership with our families, and this meeting serves as a foundation for ongoing collaboration throughout the therapy process.
4. Assessment and Evaluation:
Following the initial consultation, a board certified behavior analysis (BCBA) will conduct a comprehensive assessment to better understand the strengths and areas of need for the individual receiving services. This assessment may include direct observations, interviews, and standardized assessments as well as a review of medical, developmental, and educational history.
5. Developing a Treatment Plan:
Based on the assessment findings and input from you and your family, we will develop a customized treatment plan tailored to the individual’s unique needs and goals. This plan will outline specific objectives, target behaviors, and intervention strategies.
6. Therapy Begins:
Once the treatment plan is developed, our team will begin implementing ABA therapy sessions. These sessions may take place in various settings, including your home, our clinic, or the community, depending on your child’s specific needs and goals. The first step of initiating ABA therapy is a process called “pairing.” Pairing is the intentional building of a positive and nurturing relationship and involves creating a warm, engaging, and enjoyable environment for your child to build a strong bond with their therapist. Through pairing, the therapist becomes associated with positive experiences and reinforcement, fostering a sense of security and comfort for your child.
